IOGEAR Dock Pro 60 USB-C 4K Station with Game+ Mode review
The IOGEAR Dock Pro was one of the more unique pieces of gear that I had the chance to review. It’s a portable dock that has you to plug in any USB-C enabled device and allows you to view that device on a bigger screen through an HDMI cable. Now most people have cautiously steered cleared from third party docks, even ones that have been officially licenced by Nintendo because of a third party docks bricking Switches last year. So it was a pretty big risk trying the Dock Pro out.
But thanks to its design, there was no need to worry about my Switch bricking. The Dock Pro is very compact, which is great for those who like to take their Switch everywhere but don’t want to lug around the official dock. Just pair the Dock Pro with a stand for the Switch and you have a prefect mobile set up. The IOGEAR Dock Pro 60 USB-C 4K Station is priced at $79.99 at IOGear.com and Amazon.com.
myCharge RAZOR XTREME PD portable charger
Portable chargers/power banks are now a integral part of any techie or gamer on the go. Last year’s charger that was on the gift guide, COAL Portable Charger, was a great charger for those who have devices that use Lighting, USB-C and USB-C mini. It supported multiple chargers but would have to be recharged at the end of the day. In comes the myCharge RAZORXTREME-PD.
This big boy is the myCharge RAZORXTREME-PD portable charger. Its packing 26800mAh of power, meaning that it will charge everything from phones, tablets and small laptops to what I mainly use it for- charging my Switch and Vita:
It has power for days and is a must have for those who travel with a lot of tech. The myCharge RAZORXTREME-PD is priced at $99.99 on myCharge.com.
SKHynix Gold S31 1TB Internal SSD
This year we have something for PC gamers too. This is the SK Hynix Gold S31 1TB Internal SSD. When it comes to looking for parts to build a PC, I’m a complete newbie. However after researching this product and then installing it, I can see why getting a good SSD is important and not to skimp out on it. If you have someone or you yourself wanting to build a PC over the holidays, this is a great gift. The SK Hynix Gold S31 1TB Internal SSD is priced at $105 and you can only get it on Amazon.com.
AVerMedia Live Gamer Mini
Now we have the AVer Media Live Gamer Mini. This easy to use video capture device was created with the beginner content creator in mind. All you have to do its plug in the corresponding cords, pull up your streaming software of choice and there you go. It also helps to know that the device itself is super small which makes it great for a portable set up.
That’s the Live Gamer Mini circled in red. As I mentioned with its ease or use and small size, the Live Gamer Mini is perfect for portable setups. The AVer Media Live Gamer Mini is priced at $119.99 at Amazon.com and BestBuy.com.
Nintendo Switch Lite
Lastly and probally what might be the most popular gift to be given this year is the Nintendo Switch Lite. The Switch Lite is Nintendo’s first hardware revision the focuses on the portability aspect of the regular Switch. This means that the Joy-Cons are fused to the body of the system, which does bring down the cost. I love my original Switch and I love the fact that I’m able to “switch” between it being a home console and a portable console but since its launch, I’ve been using it more as a portable handheld system. The Switch Lite is great for those who exclusively like to take their games on the go and only dock it when it needs to be charged. The Switch Lite show in the image is the Pokemon Sword & Shield special edition and also comes in yellow, turquoise and grey. The Lite is priced at $199.99 and you can find it at most major retail stores.
And that does it for this last minute Holiday Gift Guide. I hope this helps out a bit as Christmas is fast approaching. Thanks for checking our guide out and hope everyone one of you has a Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas/Happy New Year.
