For the past few years Visual Novels have been on the rise on the Vita. From the horrific murderings of high school students in Corpse Party to going back to the Tokugawa era in Hakuoki Demon of the Fleeting Blossom Visual Novels (from here on referred to as VNs) all kinds of VNs have been coming to North America thanks to companies like XSEED and Aksys Games. And now they have started to make their way on to the PS3. Aksys Games have already made their VN claim on the PS3 with the recent PS3 release of Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsengumi that released last week and now with an upcoming VN called XBlaze Code Embryo.
Now what’s really interesting about XBlaze is that the VN serves as a prequel to the BlazBlue series of fighting games. While none of the characters from BlazBlue will make an appearance, a lot of the back story that was talked about in the fighting games will be presented in Xblaze. Here’s a traier that Aksys released showing off the cast:
XBlaze Code Embryo is set for a June 24th release exclusively on the PSN Store. But for those who want a physical copy of the game, GameStop and Amazon are taking pre-orders for physical copies of the game. Also there is a demo of XBlaze on the PSN Store right now that let’s you go through the first chapter of the game.
