Capcom announces Resident Evil 6, releases trailer

During the Resident Evil 15th Anniversary Premium Party event, Capcom had offically announced that Resident Evil 6 is in the works and surprisingly enough it was given a release date of November 22, 2012 in Japan and November 20 in the US and Europe.

RE6 is set to have Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield sharing the main lead role, with an unnamed third male lead. The game is set ten years after the Raccoon City incident and the US president planed to finally reviled the truth about that night. At his side to provide support and truth to his words is Leon Kennedy. But as the president is about to speak, the venue is attacks and the president is turned into bio weapon. While this is going on, Chris Redfield is landing somewhere in China where a bio-terrorist attack has taken place. He and his team are sent in to secure the area but get more than what they bargained for. Then we are introduced to an unknown man who is selling his services as a mercenary. At first he seems just like any regular merc, but then he mentions that the world needs his blood and he will give it to whoever “ponies up the most cash”. Check out the trailer below:

The trailer has a mix of rendered cut scenes and gameplay footage, showing off how each of the three characters play. Again the game is set to release this fall just in time for the holiday season. As to when the game was in productions or how long it was in the works has yet to be said, hopefully more will be revealed at E3 this year.
