E3 2019: Final Fantasy VII Remake presentation

Square Enix kicked off their E3 2019 press conference with what most could say is one of the biggest games to be released in 2020, Final Fantasy VII Remake. From being a demo showing off the power of the PS3 to going through various delays, development restarts and director/producer changes, FFVII Remake has seen a very bumpy development cycle. At one point most though the game would be stuck in developmental hell. Here is the FFVII Remake section of Square Enix’s press conference where game producer Yoshinori Kitase introduces the game and Senior Manager/Product Marketing Neal Pabon explains a bit more about the new gameplay mechanics:

For a game that started out as a demo to test the power of the PS3, FF VII Remake has come a long way. Now the game is reportedly to be 100GB in size, which is about two blue ray discs. For comparison, the only other current gen game that uses two discs is Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2. It is said that the game will be divided into sections or “chapters”, with the Midgar section of the game being the first release. Whatever the case maybe, let’s hope that Square hits it out of the park with FFVII Remake next year. If not, fans will be very angry and will tear them a new one. Final Fantasy VII Remake is set for a March 3, 2020 release.
