Gamescom 2018: Sekiro Shadows Die Twice launch date, collector’s edition revealed

One of the big surprises that came out of E3 this past year was the reveal of FROMSOFT’s follow up project after Dark Souls III, Sekiro Shadows Die Twice. During that week, no one really knew much about the game, other than its seems to be about a samurai/ninja out for revenge and battling creatures from Japanese myths and folklore. This week however, Activision (publishers of the game) and FROMSOFT are showing off the game at Gamescom 2018 and are letting attendees get a chance to play the demo for the first time.  IGN sat down with FROMSOFT’s Yasuhiro Kitao and Activision’s Robert Conkey and talked about the game. Here’s is that interview:

They explain a bit about what the game is about, the hero and his prosthetic arm and the many ways players will be able to use it in combat. During the convention, it was revealed that Sekiro will be releasing March 22, 2019. Also reveled was a collector’s edition of the game which includes the following:

•Full Game
• 7” Shinobi Statue
• SteelBook
• Collectible Artbook
• Map
• Digital Soundtrack
• Replica Game Coins

The collector’s edition is priced at $89.99. As someone who is a fan of collector/limited/special editions of games, this is a really nice collector’s edition, given that when FROMSOFT does collector/limited/special editions of their games, the items are high quality and go really fast. If you too want to be in a fantasy version of the Sengoku Era, Sekiro Shadows Die Twice is set to release March 22, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
