Get your Ben Hur on with Chariot Wars

Gamers have driven cars and karts, flown rockets and jets, and ridden horses and giant ostriches. Now its time for them to drive something more historical: a chariot. If you ever wanted to be like Charlton Heston in Ben Hur, then you have your chance in the game Chariot War.

The year is 128 AD. Roman Emperor Hadrian has announced a grand chariot race that will take place through out the Roman Empire. But on the day before the start of the race, the body of a Judean racer and a mysterious woman were found. As Quintus Octavian, head of the Praetorian Guard, suspect that this was the work of one of Rome’s feuding nobles. With permission from the emperor, you take the place of the Judean racer in order to find out who is behind his murder.

Chariot Wars will include the following features:

  • Single player arcade racing including Championship and Time Trial modes
  • Exciting story told via a digital graphic novel
  • Levels set in Ancient Greece, Egypt, Helvetia and Gaul during day and night levels
  • Eight different chariot models
  • Male and female charioteer avatars
  • Multiple horse types to unlock and upgrade
  • Real-time 8 player multiplayer
  • Lobby, achievements and global leaderboard

Honestly this games sounds really cool and I love the idea of fusing a murder mystery into a racing game. At the time of this writing Chariot Wars should be out by now, so if you wanted something more historical in your racing games, give it a shot. I think I may as well.
