Konami reveals Metal Gear Rising director, announces demo at E3

This week’s issue of Famitsu had a dialogue between Kojima Productions head Hideo Kojima and Platinum Game’s CEO Tatsuya Minami and producer Atsushi Inaba about Metal Gear Rising Revengance (which from here on will be either called Metal Gear Rising or MGR) and goes into a bit more detail on how the partnership came to be.

Also in the discussion, it was finally revealed who the director to MGR was going to be. For quite sometime, all fingers pointed to Hideki Kamiya, director of Bayonetta and creator of Devil May Cry. Sitting in the director seat for MGR will be Bayonetta main programmer Kenji Saito. Saito had been working closely to Kamiya since Clover was started and has proven himself to be more than just a programmer.
It was also revealed that Metal Gear Rising will finally make an appearance at E3 2012 with a playable demo. Those who do attend will finally get their hands on the cyborg Raiden and see for themselves how Platinum will handle the game. That is if there’s an E3 this year.
