It’s that time of year again. Christmas is just a under a week away and for some reason you still haven’t finished your holiday shopping. Don’t worry we have you covered. Once again we have our last minute gift guides to help pick out some last minute stocking stuffers. That’s right, guides. This year various companies have sent us a lot of stuff to check out that two lists will be up. With that said let’s get to the first list, featuring products from PowerA.
Much like last year’s Nintendo Switch gift guide, PowerA has sent over some really cool accessories to us over this year. This time however we have items for all three consoles: Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. Thanks to the awesome people at PowerA, we can put up this list for you (This isn’t a paid promotion. They just sent out the products and said to check them out and give an honest opinion). Let’s start with an accessory for the holiday’s most popular console, the Nintendo Switch Lite.
PowerA Stealth Case for Nintendo Switch Lite
This past September Nintendo released the Nintendo Switch Lite, a hardware revision of the Switch that focus on the handheld portability feature that made the Switch popular in the first place. And with any new system/system revision that gets released, accessories also get released. Last year PowerA sent over a Mario themed Protection Kit for the Switch that get plenty of use and has survived many falls. This year they sent over the Stealth Case Kit for the Switch Lite.
The PowerA Stealth Case Kit (in this case, red with a Super Mario World theme) has a soft outer shell with a built-in stand and felt-lined interior molded to fit the Switch Lite. It has a mess pouch to keep small accessories in and has a a section that can carry four games.
Out of all the Mario games that Nintendo has put out, Super Mario World is my all time favorite and the only Mario game that I’ve completed 100%. It’s really a really cool and classic design that everyone will love. And if Mario isn’t your cup of tea, there are other a couple of other designs from Pokemon, Zelda, The Witcher and other Mario designs to choose from. The PowerA Stealth Case Kit retails at $14.99 at the official PowerA website, Target’s website and GameStop’s website. If you need them right away, you can find them at your local Targets and GameStops.
PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch– Satin Chrome Link
As you can see from the above picture, there are two wireless controllers. The red and black one is the Enhanced Wireless Controller for the Switch that PowerA sent last year. The one on the right of it is one of the Breath of the Wild controllers that PowerA sent this year. This one is a golden chrome color with Link aiming with his bow and the letter Z with the Master Sword going through it on the right hand side.
While it might look like last year’s design but with Link on it, this controller adds in motion control support. If you’re looking to get a Zelda fan you know a great gift, this is a great choice. The controller is priced at $49.99 on PowerA.com and on sale right now for $37.49 at GameStop.com and its physical storefronts.
PowerA Fusion Wired FightPads
While I would love to have a fight stick to use for fighting games, they are super pricey. That’s where the PowerA Fusion FightPads (PS4 and Switch version shown) come into play.
The Fusion FightPads’ design takes inspiration from the Sega Saturn six button controller but with a modern twist. It’s very comfortable in the hands for long gaming sessions and can be used on almost every fighting game, you just need to do a button check before starting a match. The Fusion FightPads can be found for $59.99 on PowerA.com, Amazon.com, and on Walmart.com and its physical stores.
PowerA Fusion Pro Wired Controller for Xbox One
Lastly we have the Fusion Pro Wired Controller for the Xbox One. Let’s get this out of the way first: the controller is $79.99, the most expensive item on this guide. Despite the price, this is a great alternative to Microsoft’s own Elite and Elite V2 which are priced at $179.99.
With the ability to swap out thumb stick, add trigger paddles and controlling how far you need to press the L2 and R2 triggers with the built in trigger locks, the Fusion Pro Wired Controller performs just a good as the Elites. If you are thinking about getting someone you know that’s takes competition seriously, then the Fusion Pro Wired Controller is a great pick. You can find it on PowerA.com, Amazon.com, and BestBuy.com for $79.99.
And that does it for this last minute Holiday Gift Guide featuring PowerA. I want to say thank you again to the great people of PowerA for sending over the featured items. I hope this helps out a bit as Christmas is fast approaching. Thanks for checking our guide out and hope everyone one of you has a Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
