Natsume to localize River City Rivals Showdown, playable at E3

Ever since Technos was bought by Arc System Works, the Kunio-kun series has been seeing a resurgence, making their way to the PS4 and PC in recent years. 2016 marked the series 30th anniversary in Japan with the 1986 release of Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun. They celebrated the anniversary of the series with enhanced remake of Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari SP for the 3DS. The West wasn’t left out of the festivities, as 2017 marks the 30th anniversary for the West, as Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun was localized as Renegade. And like Japan, the West will be seeing an enhanced remake of Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari SP or as we known it, River City Rampage. The game will be titled River City Rivals Showdown.

As mentioned before River City Rivals is a enhanced remake of River City Rampage. Changes include updated backgrounds, music, new fighting moves and a new mode called Fighting Double Dragon 2016.  Fighting Double Dragon 2016 is a 2D fighting game that stars many of the characters in River City, including the Double Dragons themselves Billy and Jimmy Lee. River City Rivals Showdown has no set release date as of yet, but most likely we will learn when it releases as the game will be playable at E3 this month.
