It has been a while since I’ve explored Hyperdimension Neptunia’s world of Gamindustri. Since then Neptunia and friends have traveled back in time, had an anime made and even tried their hands as idols. So while we wait for the next two games in the series (Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II for the PS4 and Hyperdimension Action Neptunia U for the Vita) why not take a quick preview of Neptunia Re;Birth1, which happens to be coming out this month on the 26th for North America and the 27th for Europe.
Let’s start of with some of the most obvious changes that have been made to the game. Neptunia Re;Birth1 is an enhanced remake of the first Hyperdimension Neptunia game for the PS3. As soon as you start the game you will notice that Re;Birth1 has received reworked visuals. In the original Neptunia the graphics had the looks of early gen PS3 games. Now the graphics have been smoothed out, look much brighter and pop out more thanks to the Vita’s OLED screen. Another noticeable improvement is that the framerate was improved greatly. Gameplay has gotten some upgrades as well. Neptunia Re;Birth1 uses a battle system that is similar to Neptunia V, and also has new mechanics. One of those new mechanics is the ReMake system. What the ReMake system does is that it allows players to be able to add items to dungeons, increase the difficulty of the dungeons and even create new dungeons. Here is an example of the ReMake system at work:
Another new mechanic that was added into Re;Birth1 is the DiscDev system. This system allows player to create their own equipable game discs that either adds new stats for characters or increases current stats. Here’s another video from the game that shows how the DiscDev system works:
These are just a few of the many changes that were made for Neptunia Re;Birth1. As to what other changes are in store, you’ll just have to wait for our review of the game and experience it for yourself come August 26th for North America and August 27 for the EU.
