New Game+ Expo brings together developers and publishers for digital showcase

With many conventions and expos making the decision to cancel or postpone their events to protect the attendees from spreading and coming down with COVID-19, many are hosting live streams in order to make up for the inconvenience and for those staying at home some content to enjoy. There’s Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, MomoConline happening this weekend and newcomer New Game+ Expo.

New Game+ Expo (NGPX) is an online digital showcasing of new and upcoming games from a coalition of various developers and publishers. These games span a wide range of genres from action adventure and platforming to narrative driven and puzzle-solving. The list of companies that are partcipating in NGPX are as follows:

  • Idea Factory
  • NIS America
  • GunHo America
  • Aksys Games
  • Arc System Works
  • WayForward
  • KoeiTemco
  • Spike Chunsoft
  • Grasshopper Manufacture
  • SEGA
  • Atlus
  • SNK
  • Natsume
  • acttil
  • Playism
  • Inti Creates

What’s really cool in my opinion is that the majority of these developers and publishers are either Japanese studios or are publishers that localize Japanese games. It’s great to see so many third party developers team up to showcase their games to fans who are (hopefully) staying safe at home. And to be honest, most of the games that are being showcased here would have been lost in the shuffle during the E3 madness. NGPX is set to kick off June 23, 2020 starting at 8AM PDT.
