One of the things that NISA does that fans appreciate is that they tend to pick up games that have been previously published by other companies. Sometimes the publishers just up and quit for no reason given, sometimes they are too busy with their own games that they weren’t able to fit them into their release scheduled and sometimes localization of the game was too overwhelming, time consuming and not cost effective. Regardless of what the reasons might be, fans are happy that NISA comes in and help push these games to launch. One such game series is the Utawarerumono franchise. The Utawarerumono series made its way to the West with Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception by way of Atlus in May of 2017. In September of that same year Atlus also published the sequel, Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth. Its after the game’s release that NISA took over publishing duties and now is planning to release Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen early next year.
Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen is actually a remaster of the original game that first came out to Japanese PCs and PS2s in 2006. Fan will finally be able to experience the events that set into motion the other two games for the very first time. The game follows a man with no memories who wakes up in a strange world. A group of villagers take him in and raise him as one of their own, later giving him the name Hakuoro. Life seems peaceful at first, until neighboring nations start to encroach on to the village. Hakuoro rises against the invaders and sets into motion a journey to save his new home. Key features of the game include the following:
- An Epic Tale – Become immersed in a turbulent story of love, war, and destiny.
- Heroes of Myth – Unravel the tale of a diverse cast of characters, and watch how their fates intertwine.
- Art of War – Claim victory through the use of tactics, elemental advantages, and the unique strengths of your party members
Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen is set for an early 2020 release on the PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
