One of my favorite dungeon crawlers that was released on the PSP was a game called ClaDun X2. The games was an dungeon crawler that used an 8-bit art style that also let you customize the character and weapon sprites. For being a fairly simple game, it had a a lot of customization and high replayablity. While there was a spiritual sequel in the form of Legasista on the PS3, there wasn’t really a true follow up.
At NISA’s press event this past Friday, it was revealed that they will be bringing the latest entry in the series to the West this Summer. Titled ClaDun Returns: This is Sengoku, the game this time takes place during Japan’s Sengoku Era. Here you help fallen souls who have unfinished business complete their business so that they may finally cross over to the other side and be reincarnated. Everything that made the previous games great returns: pixel customization, tons of dungeons to explore and much more. Best of all multiplayer is finally being added in with a co-op mode and a vs mode that has players compete to see who can clear the dungeon the fastest. ClaDun Returns: This is Sengoku will be releasing on June 6, 2017 physically for the PS4 and digitally for the Vita and PC via Steam.
