PAX coming to Texas in the form of PAX South

AS PAX East winds down this weekend, an announcement was made in regards to forming another PAX event in addition to PAX Prime, East and Australia. It was hinted at a RTX 2012 panel that PAX was looking into bringing an event down south for those who couldn’t attend the two northern PAX conventions. It seems that they have found a home, or at least a place to debut the con. During yesterday’s “Make a Strip” panel, Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins, the creators/founders of PAX, announced that PAX South will be taking place in San Antonio Texas on January 23 to the 25 in 2015.

Though it may seem weird at first, San Antonio has seen a growth in conventions over the years. Factor in that the main convention center, the Henry B Gonzalez convention center, is in proximity of several hotels, one of which is connected right next store and one across the street, has the Riverwalk and Rivercenter Mall within walking distance and other amenities. There’s also the fact that everything is within walking distance from the HBG Center. In any case this is a really great chance to show the gaming industry that San Antonio can hold a major convention of this short. Who knows, if the city makes a great enough impression, they can always bid San Antonio to host E3. A guy can dream can he?
