PAX South 2016 Preview: Step into the shoes of a custodial engineer in Diaries of a Space Janitor

Everyone has had a job that they hate. They want to quit, yet it pays the bills. Everyone has complained about it at one point or another; complained how they hate being stuck there, complained that how they are still here feels like a curse, and that one day that they will leave this god forsaken place and finally see the outside world. That’s how one Alaensee woman feels like in Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor.

In Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor, you are the titular Janitor who dreams of leaving the spaceport in search for adventure and excitement. Yet instead of adventure and excitement, the closest thing you have is your trusty Incinitron trash incinerator and a spaceport fill with trash that you have to clean up. The game is billed as an “anti-adventure” as you explore the spaceport and the planet that your stuck on, picking up trash that the planet’s culture leaves behind, or eating said trash to reveal the culture’s more adventurous side; all the while looking for a way off this forsaken rock. Oh and you’re cursed for some reason and have a floating skull following and screaming at you. Just another day on the job.

Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor is set for a release sometime in 2016, but if you happen to be in San Antonio, Texas next weekend for PAX South 2016, tinyBuild will have a playable demo for everyone to check out.
