Ni no Kuni Wrath of the White Witch was a surprise gem of the PS3 era and one of my favorite JRPGs that released for the system. Its story about a son’s love for his mother, friends and a strange world combined with Pokemon’s capture gameplay and art direction from Studio Ghibli made it a must play regardless of what type of gamer you are. While most fans were disappointed that the DS version didn’t make it to the West as well, those feelings went away when it was announced that Bandai Namco and Level 5 revealed that they are working on a sequel, Ni no Kuni II REVENANT KINGDOM. During the Playstation Experience 2016 keynote that was held this weekend, a trailer was released showing off the new hero of Ni no Kuni:
As I mentioned before, Ni no Kuni was my favorite JRPG from the PS3 era and was one of the few games that made me cry for Oliver, the main character of the game. Hopefully REVENANT KINGDOM’s story will just as heartfelt and charming as the previous game. Ni no Kuni II REVENANT KINGDOM is set for a 2017 release.
