After an episode of Pokemon Smash, series director Junichi Masuda came on the show to give a suprising announcement.
He revealed that there will be a new pair of traditional Pokemon games. But instead of having new colors, these games will be direct sequels to Pokemon White and Pokemon Black, White 2 and Black 2. These two latest installments will be released this June in Japan and a TBD date for the West. While a new Pokemon game means increased DS sales, one has to wonder why this isn’t a 3DS game? Are they planning something big for the 3DS? Hopefully more news will be revealed when E3 rolls in.
