Rangers and villains clash in Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid

When I was a kid, I had many arguments with my friends on who was the best Power Ranger. Some said the Pink Ranger, others went with the Red Ranger. Of course the Green/White Ranger was the most popular. As for me, I liked the Blue Ranger because I related to him as a fellow awkward nerd. As time went on, more and more Rangers came on the scene. Turbo. Neo. Jungle Force. Ninja Storm. Time Force. Samurai. And many, many others. There’s even been a couple of crossover specials that has various Rangers from various teams joining forces. With so many Rangers, arguing on who is the best Power Ranger is tougher than ever before, until now.

From the developers of the mobile game, Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, come a new fighting game called Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid. Here’s the gameplay trailer that was released today:

From the looks of things, Battle for the Grid seems to take inspiration from other tag fighting games such as DragonBall FighterZ and the Marvel Vs Capcom series, as it will feature 3v3 combat. The press release states that the game is removing command inputs and long patterns in favor for an “easy to learn, hard to master” system. It also states that for the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC versions of the game will have cross play and cross progression. No word if the PS4 version will have cross play due to Sony’s “stance” on the issue. In any case the game is a celebration of all things Power Rangers and should delight fans of the series. Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is set for a Spring 2019 release.
