With the success of the first Yakuza Kiwami (aka Yakuza 1 HD Remaster), SEGA has announced that they will also be giving Yakuza 2 the remaster treatment. Yakuza Kiwami 2 will be running off the Yakuza 6 engine and will sport minor changes from the original version. SEGA released a cinematic trailer to Yakuza Kiwami 2 in action:
There is no word yet on a Western release, but it might be sometime after the Japanese release of the game, which it releases on December 17, 2017.
