For a game series that was steeped with controversy just because the cast was made up of all busty ninja school girls, Senran Kagura received a warm welcome in the West. So much so that two more games, both for the Vita, have made their way over and Funimation has just last year picked up the anime for localization. If you can get past that the all female cast are very busty and happen high school, the Senran Kagura games (except Bon Appetit that was pure fan service) have really interesting characters who each have different moves and skill sets and are pretty competent beat em’ ups/brawlers.
Which brings us to today’s announcement from XSEED/Marvelous: in addition to Onechanbara Z2 Chaos, they will be bringing Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson to the West as well.
Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson picks up right where Senran Kagura Bust leaves off as the girls from Hanzō Academy and the Hebijo Clandestine Girls’ Academy team up together to a supernatural enemy that will wipe out all of ninja kind, both good and evil ninjas. The game will be in a 2.5D beart em up and players will be able have the girls pair up and tag up with each other or can bring in another friend for co-op ninja action. There is no release date for the game, but expect a Spring/Summer 2015 release.
