It is with out a doubt that Vanillaware makes some of the most beautiful looking 2D games. From the backdrops to the characters and the NPCs that inhabit the world is a work of art. My personal favorite Vanillaware game is Dragon’s Crown. The way that that the took the grotesque and made it look beautiful was amazing, even though some people may think differently. Plus the gameplay was top notch and reminded me of the classic Dungeons & Dragons arcade games. So as we wait for the HD version of Odin Sphere Leifthrasir to release on the PS4 sometime next year, everyone is wondering what is the developer’s next game. Well wait no more as they have announced their next game as 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim. Here is a teaser trailer that shows the game:
The art and animation look amazing, as per Vanillaware standard. As for what the game is about, nothing has been said yet, but if I have to guess, it might have to do something with piloting mechs. There’s no release date as of yet, but I do hope Atlus decides to bring this over to the West when it does get a release date.
