One of the stranger Final Fantasy spin offs that I’ve seen has to be the Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon series. It’s kind of weird seeing an over sized bird dungeon crawling and looking for loot. Whatever the case may be, Chocobo has had many games, though very few of them made it to the West. The last game that stared the iconic yellow bird was FINAL FANTASY FABLES: Chocobo’s Dungeon. Now almost ten years later Square Enix announced at TGS that they will be bringing the series back with Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy!. Here’s the trailer that they released this weekend:
From what I understand from the press release that Square sent out, Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy! is a remake/remaster of FINAL FANTASY FABLES: Chocobo’s Dungeon. The game will have new areas to explore, monsters to buddy with (hence the word “Buddy” in the title), newly recorded dialogue and co-op play. The game is set to be release in this Winter 2018 for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Honestly I can see this game selling particularly well on the Switch, mainly due to its portability. We’ll see this Winter.
