The super alliance is back with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

Back in the early 2000’s Diablo II was one of the most popular hack n’ slash action RPG. Much like Doom and its Doom-clones, Diablo II also saw a ton of its own clones. Some were good, others were terrible. One of the better Diablo-clones was Marvel Ultimate Alliance. It allows players to form dream team ups and classic groups using up to 25+ characters that included the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, and many other iconic heroes and villains. A sequel, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, was released in 2009 and used a combination of the Secret War and Civil War story lines for its plot. While it sold very well, it apparently didn’t well well enough for another entry and so was forgotten, until now. With Marvel riding high on the success of Avengers Infinity Wars and the hype of the trailer to Avengers Endgame, they teamed up with Team Ninja, developers of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, to bring the alliance back exclusiflly on the Switch in the form of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. The Black Order.

Revealed at the Game Awards this past Thursday, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order has Marvel’s mightiest heroes face off against The Black Order. If they sound and look familiar, they recently made their big screen debut as minions of Thanos in Avengers Infinity War. Thanos isn’t the only villain that we see in the trailer, as the Kingpin and Sentinels also make an appearance.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is set to release sometime in 2019 exclusively on the Switch.
