Live action shorts have become very popular promotion tools in the past few years for video games. Some turn out pretty good, while others have you question what were they thinking. Regardless they are still entertaining to watch, especially if the production team behind the short knows what they are doing. 5pb., the Japanese developer/publisher behind Phantom Breaker, Super Sonico and Stiens;Gate have contracted You Tube producers Thousands Pounds Action Company to create a short for their latest game coming to the PS4, Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Overdrive.
For those who are fans of Naruto, you may recognize the production company behind the short. For those who are wondering who these people are or what I am talking about, this production company produced a short fan film a few years ago called Naruto Dreamers Fight. They also produced a short for Capcom to promote Street Fighter X Tekken and other original content. Now their latest short that 5pb. contracted them to produce is based on Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Overdrive and stars one of the main characters Yuzuha Fujibayashi:
Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Overdrive is set to release next week on July 24, 2015 for the PS4.
