Often refereed to as the father of MMA, Bruce Lee’s philosophies run deep through modern MMA. His Jeet Kune Do was developed by taking several martial arts styles and forming them into one. He emphasized learning/training in more than one martial art style and as he has said:
Don’t get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.
Many UFC fighters have taken this to heart, which is why you see many fighters use many different styles. You can see his influance in today’s fighters. But what about the Dragon himself. If he was still alive and in his prime, how would be fare in the Octagon? You can find that out with the Bruce Lee DLC when you pre-order EA SPORTS UFC. A trailer was released that finally shows Bruce Lee in action, with commentary from UFC Dana White, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis and EA SPORTS UFC Creative Director Brian Hayes:
You too can feel what its like to be the Dragon when EA SPORTS UFC released next month on the 17th.
